For nearly 30 years, Developments in Literacy (DIL) has worked in some of Pakistan’s most underserved rural and peri-urban areas—earning trust through long-term presence, consistent delivery, and high-impact education programs. Our reputation for delivering
e:ective, locally grounded educational solutions makes us a trusted partner for both communities and public institutions.
DIL operates through two complementary school models:
Rather than building new infrastructure, DIL partners with the Government of Pakistan to upgrade and transform existing schools. Nearly half of the schools in our network are government schools—enabling scale, cost-efficiency, and alignment with the broader public education system.
These schools—whether community-based or government-run—are designed to be safe, inclusive learning environments, particularly for girls. By leveraging community relationships built over decades, DIL delivers sustainable, high-quality education at scale.
We succeed because our schools are:
National Reach, Local Roots
DIL schools span diverse regions of Pakistan—including rural areas, low-income regions, and education-deprived communities—reflecting our long-standing presence and reach across the country.
Our Education Model is built for equity, impact, and scale.
We combine innovative technology, strong teacher support, early learning, and contextualized curricula to help every child succeed especially in underserved communities.
Our education technology initiative blends digital lessons with hands-on activities to build foundational skills in core subjects.
We equip educators with tools, coaching, and AI-powered insights to deliver high-quality instruction, even in the most low-resource settings.
This is where it begins. Our early learning programs nurture curiosity, confidence, and school readiness from the start.
